The reason for the success Dismas House New Mexico has been able to achieve is not only the will of the residents, but the quality of time they spend at Dismas House.  Our innovative LIFE BY DESIGN Courses cover many subjects that will help each individual transition into the community.  Some of the classes include Civic and Moral Responsibilities, Financial Literacy, Restoring Your Identity, Family Law and Child Custody just to name a few.

                          James Cobos loads his bike onto a Rapid Ride bus Thursday morning at a Downtown stop after having to wait for a second bus — the first didn’t have room for his bike. That’s becoming more and more common for the city’s cyclists who use the bus system, as the increase in ridership has meant a decrease in bike space.      

One program involves pet therapy.  Pictures below describe what happens when our residents interact with our Bunnies!

                                         Cindy (far left) holds Fred, Greta (middle) pets Bunny, and Mary (far right) spends time with Clyde.   When we love a living thing, part of our soul is awakened. Animal Spirit is so great it may inspire the human heart.  Animals reconnect us to our lives.

Dinner at Dismas House is all about sharing,  February 20, 2008 was one of many special nights for Dismas House. 

On this night, dinner was coupled with an extraordinary workshop on Family Advocacy and  Women’s safety.
